Use resource policies
Resource Policies (Admin > Resource Policies) let you set up limitations for the circulation of your resources.
You can configure due dates for your resources by setting up "Class Loan periods" and/or "Interval Loan periods".
Set up policies for your resources by:
- Defining loan periods.
- Assigning loan periods to your resources.
- Determining which resource types your patron types can check out.
You can create class or interval loan periods.
- Can be assigned to classes, patron types, and departments/locations.
- Are used when a patron and resource are assigned to a class.
- Can be assigned to patron types and departments/locations.
- Are used when a patron and resource are not assigned to a class.

Note: Destiny alerts you when a checkout violates one of the defined policies. When it does, a message appears, indicating the resource policy that the checkout violates. You must override it before continuing with the transaction. |
|
Important: By default, all of your resource types have the System Default loan period.
